Sunny King Releases "UNSPOKEN" Official Poster

SUNNY KING BIOGRAPHY

The philosophy of budding filmmaker Sunny King is simple ... One man, One camera, One mission.

His journey as a film director began shortly after becoming disillusioned with the illustration course that he was studying at university.Soon after, Sunny set his sights on becoming a filmmaker after witnessing Katia lund and Fernando Meirelles' cult classic ‘City of God’.

“That film showed me that a good script with good direction can take you anywhere, the fact that it got so much attention for the storyline and was not deemed a huge blockbuster style movie made it all the more amazing, at the time I was soul-searching as I wasn’t sure what exactly I wanted to do but this film inspired me to go out there and make good films.”

Like most filmmakers Sunny first taste of the film industry manifested itself as a runner in a low budget feature film. The experience left a huge impression on him, and spurred him on to venture into the realm of making independent films of his own. The rest as they say is history, since that time Sunny who cites Fritz lang, F.W Murnau, Kinji fukasaku and Park Chan-Wook as influences, has worked on numerous shorts, and supporting artist roles in Beeban Kidron’s ‘Hippie Hippie Shake’ which also starred Sienna Miller and Cillian Murphy.

“My role in this particular movie was as a prisoner, I got to see how directors worked with crews and it was great to see how films are made on a bigger scale.”

All of this experience culminated in Sunny becoming a finalist in the Project Talent UK competition of 2007 for Best Music Video, directing a short documentary style music video for PTUK winners Nutty NRG’s ‘Good Music’ single. Since then numerous offers for projects have been requested and Sunny is fast discovering that the filmmaking world is his oyster.
